Unofficial Minutes for May

Meeting was called to order at 6:01pm by Jimmy Liles

Present were: Kathy, Wanda, Jimmy, Jeff, JB, Sharon, Shane, Bucky and Diane

Absent were

Wanda made a motion to accept May's minutes, Kathy seconded, motion carried.

JB made a motion to accept treasurers report, Jeff seconded, motion carried.

Jimmy asked how much was earmarked for fireworks for this year. Wanda wasn't for sure but would have a total at next meeting. She said she thinks around $4000.00.

Michael Bramucci from Ute Lake Ranch was at the meeting. Was asking how they could get involved and support the chamber. We would contact him about the 4th of July.

The signs are in. Jimmy stated he had a verbal agreement with one of the State Highway men. The guy does not work for the state anymore so therefore we cannot hang the signs. The signs can only stay up for 5-7 days. Jimmy has talked with Rodney at State Park and Rodney is going to try to get approval to hang them at the entrance to the State Park and maybe at McFarland Point. If that doesn't work we can maybe hang one at ENMR where one of our sign use to be before the tornado.

Chuckwagon- Went good. Do not know how we came out money wise as of yet. WE are still waiting on a few more sponsors to pay.

Kids Derby- Saturday, June 2 from 8:00 - 12:00. Need to get permit from State Park, JB said he would do that. JB & Shane will get with Kathy to get cake out to bait some places. Will have a dunkiing booth and a casting contest. JB & Shane will get the casting contest ready. We will have rod & reels for kids that do not have any. Prizes for big fish & casting contest will be rod & reel. Need sponsors for t-shirts. Will have hot dogs, chips and drinks. Jeff will bring his grill. LD & Diane will be in charge of registration- be there at 7:30am. We budgeted $1000.00 Jeff made the motion, Kathy seconded, motion carried. Chamber will buy 10 fishing poles to keep for kids that do not have fishing poles. Diane will put gift bags together.

4th of July- Deanna will fix beans- 150lbs. Jb will order 1200 lbs brisket. Kathy made a motion for a dinner for two to whoever sells the most tickets. Jeff seconded, motion carried. Shane is to order 14 X 26 burlap bags for $65.00. Sharon made the motion, Kathy seconded motion carried. Diane will talk to Village about parade. We want to put up a table at Civic Center to sell cookbooks. Need to find out how much a table is and do a phone poll. Logan Bass club had 74 entries. They will donate around $2000 for fireworks. Wanda made a motion that the Chamber give $1000, Shane seconded , motion carried. Jeff & Shane will talk to Benito about the entertainment at the Bean feed- need to find out how much. Sharon made a motion that the Bean feed will start at 4:30. Kathy seconded, motion carried. Need to talk to Bobby about getting wood, and what time we need to have the meat ready. Diane made a motion that if we have left over brisket that we sell it for $30.00 a brisket, Shane seconded, motion carried. This will be first come first serve. We will not hold any briskets for anyone. Charles Knotts said he would be in charge of the horseshoe competition. Sharon made a motion that we give them 3 tickets, Wanda seconded, motion carried. Sharon is going to call Duane about the ice. Ray still has tents.

Student of the year- JB, Diane, Bucky and Shane will pick. $50.00 to go to winner.Kathy made the motion and Sharon seconded, motion carried.

Kathy put our cookbook into a contest. If we get chosen we will need to send 4 more cookbooks to them. Diane made a motion we do this, Shane seconded, motion carried.

Poker Run- State Park said we just needed a permit. JB said if we give money they have to do some kind of skill when they leave the boats that have the cards. Will have to have 5 boats that they go to to pick up cards. We will have to have a place away from the State Parks to checks cards. Asked Sharon if Dinghy Dicks would like to sponsor it. She would talk to Dick. Jeff & Shane are to call the gaming commission.

Iron Man- JB & Bucky in charge. Have 7-8 events and people have to do 5 of the 7. Have the events at different businesses in town. The person would have to draw their event? Have it finalized by next meeting.

Kathy cannot handle the phone anymore. Kathy made the motion that we move it to Wanda's, Jeff seconded, motion carried. Wanda said she does not mind.

Jeff made motion to adjourn meeting. Sharon seconded.
