Unofficial Minutes for June 07

Meeting was called to order at 6:21pm by Jimmy Liles

Present were: Kathy, Wanda, Jimmy, Jeff, Shane, Bucky and Diane

Absent were: Sharon & JB

Guests: John & Diane Morency from Subway

Bucky made a motion to accept June's minutes, Jeff seconded, motion carried. Bucky made a motion to accept treasurers report, Jeff seconded, motion carried.

Shane & Jimmy are going to talk to Rodney about hanging a sign at the entrance of the State Park. Kathy is going to talk to the Village about hanging one at the city. We looked at the signs, they are very nice.

Diane is still working on the postcards.

The 4th Annual Kids Derby went very well. We had around 60 kids.

Diane is going to send out thank you letters to all that helped and donated. 4th of July Wanda made the motion to give Steve Lyman a ticket for him donating the wood for the brisket. Kathy seconded. Motion carried. Shane is going to talk to FFA to see if they would be willing to be servers at the bean feed and we would give a donation to them. Jeff is going to talk to the Eagles also to see if anyone would be a server. Jeff will talk to Johnny Sanchez about the Horseshoe event. Diane ordered trophies for the parade. Fireworks are in. We purchased $7500.00 worth of fireworks. We are going to need more wood for the fire. Jeff made a motion to pay Bobby for fuel to go to the south side and load wood. Wanda seconded. Motion carried. Subway is going to donate the sliced onions. Jeff made a motion to advertise the 4th of July on the radio - $150.00. Kathy seconded. Motion carried. Kathy will talk to the radio. Kathy will find out who is in charge of the Arts & Craft Fair and see if we can put a table in to sell cookbooks. We will have a short meeting on Tuesday, June 26th at 6:00pm.

Chamber Banquet Jeff made the motion to order another murder for the banquet. Wanda seconded. Motion carried. Kathy, Jeff & Bucky are to find one. Wanda, Shane & Diane are in charge of finding a caterer. Wanda made the motion to have it on September 22nd. Kathy seconded. Motion carried.

Poker Run Will be Saturday, June 28th. Will need 5 spots for people to get cards from. Jeff made the motion we charge $20.00. Bucky seconded motion carried. Jeff, JB & Bucky will have more at next meeting.

Tabled Iron Man.

We decided to clean Santa's suit.

At our October meeting we will have a hamburger/ hot dog cook and ask all the members to come for a brainstorming meeting.

Wanda asked Jimmy to move phone from Kathy's to her store.

Jeff made the motion to not renew billboad contract with Robert Beasley- he wants a 3 year contract at $250.00 a year. Shane seconded, motion carried.

Jeff made motion to adjourn meeting. Bucky seconded. Motion carried

We held a special meeting on Tuesday, June 26th to make sure we were ready for the weekend. Decided we needed more wood and tables. Decided to rub meat at 12:00. Jeff made the motion to adjourn meeting , Kathy seconded, motion carried.
