Unofficial Minutes for April Meeting was called to order at 6:07pm by Jimmy Liles

Present were: Kathy, Wanda, Jimmy, Jeff, JB, Sharon, Shane and Diane

Absent were: Bucky

Guest: Bobby Hines

Wanda made a motion to accept April's minutes, Kathy seconded, motion carried. Jeff made a motion to accept treasurers report, Kathy seconded, motion carried.

Ambassador's Show went very well. We did not make money on it, but we did not do it to make money. We were $557.00 short. If something like this comes around again we all agreed to do it again.

The signs that go over the road should be here next week. They were ordered today. Farmers said they would help set poles and they should also be here next week.

Diane made a dumby postcard that had 5 pictures on it. Everyone agreed to have 2 postcards with 1 picture on it (3000 each) and 1 postcard with around 4-5 pictures on it (3000). WE need to figure out what to put on the back example: (Best Little town by a dam site) Diane and La Donna will try to come up with something by next meeting. Diane said she wanted to take some recent pictures to put on the postcards.

Jeff, Jimmy & Shane are in charge of Kids Derby which will be held June 2nd. More to come on that next meeting.

Bobby Hines was at the meeting to talk about the brisket for the 4th of July. He said he felt that since the chamber had money they should buy the brisket. Jerry Bob made the motion and Wanda seconded, motion carried. The chamber will buy 1200 lbs of brisket, Jerry Bob will talk to David and Deanna about the brisket. Jerry Bob is also in charge of the beans, sliced onions and Tickets. The tickets are already printed. Diane and Jerry Bob made sure all of them were there and Diane took them to Bucky. Jeff & Jimmy will be in charge of tables. Jeff will be in charge of finding servers. Sharon will get the permit for the park. Diane will get the permit for the food and make sure about the plates, cups, BBQ sauce, bread, etc. Shane will be in charge of finding meat wrappers. Jimmy will help with the pit and fire and getting burlap bags. Jimmy asked how much the chamber is willing to put in for the fireworks. We tabled that until next meeting.

So far we have 8 wagons and 3 vendors for the Chuckwagon. Wagon judging will be on the 27th. Wanda will need to count the money that comes in with 2 other people. Wanda also need a copy of the tickets Sharon has (how many she made, who she gave them to, etc.) Sharon gave her a copy. Lodgers tax board is suppose to pay for the Ad in the Amarillo paper. JB & Jeff said they would try to find a canopy to put for sitting. State park is furnishing tables and port-a-potties. Need to get signs to put up at Wanda's. Shane, JB & Bobby would help do this. Jeff will talk to Jack McCarty for entertainment.

Kathy, Jeff & Diane will get together and come up with a date and theme for the Chamber Banquet. JB, Shane & Sharon will decide on 2 different menus for banquet. Kathy, Wanda and Jimmy will decide on the decoration.

JB & Sharon will talk to people about putting on a Poker Run. More information next meeting.

JB & Jeff brought up having a Ute Lake Iron Man Contest for men and women. Have around 10 events to chose from and they would only have to complete 5. JB, Jeff & Jimmy will look further into this.

High Desert Walleye is asking for a donation. Sharon made the motion to give them a certain amount of money ($10) for however many boats they bring in for the tournament. Kathy 2nd the motion and it carried. Jimmy & Diane will write a letter to let them know. We decided to do this also if Sun Country asks for donation.

Don't forget the Interstate Streams meeting tomorrow at 3:00pm to talk about the land.
